You must be twenty-one to buy any firearm from a dealer in Florida — rifle and shotgun included, not only handguns. If you are eighteen to twenty we would far rather tell you that now than have you make the trip.
A concealed weapon licence does not change this, even though a Florida court allowed eighteen-to-twenty-year-olds to obtain one in 2026. Carrying and buying are governed by different statutes.

Revere Gun Range in Pompano Beach is the closest indoor option. Gun World of South Florida in Deerfield Beach runs fifteen lanes. Markham Park in Sunrise is the county's outdoor range — rifle, pistol and shotgun.

A straightforward transfer is usually under twenty minutes at the counter, most of which is the Form 4473 itself. FDLE reports that 98 per cent of checks resolve within minutes.
Gunsmithing turnaround depends on the job — you get a real date, not “a couple of weeks.”
If FDLE returns non-approved there is a formal appeal. It must be filed within sixty days and requires fingerprints taken by a law enforcement agency. We will show you how to begin it rather than shrugging at you.
